We approached her soon after about collaborating on a series of simple, refined stoneware designs that would highlight the natural beauty of the material. A few weeks passed and we received a call from her saying that she had been inspired by a walk along Cardiff Bay on a recent trip to Wales. The ambient combinations of color and texture she noticed during her walk along the bay became the starting point for the Ullu Line series.

Made at Eastern Chinaware (Thailand) It took a long time to find a stoneware workshop that combined conscientious production with handcraft techniques.

A long time, that is, until we met Chockchai Lertiendumrong and were introduced to his 2nd generation family-owned workshop just outside Bangkok. Together with his brothers and sisters, he carries on his father’s legacy and continues to build on the original vision of Eastern Chinaware started decades ago. The company recently received the ISO 14001 distinction for environmentally conscientious production processes. We’re proud to work with people who know that beauty is as much about the process as the finished product.
