There is a difference between design and styling. Design analyzes a situation and seeks the optimal solution to make it better. Styling is about how products look, often separate from their functions. We don't focus on styling alone, but do take heart in Buckminster Fuller's adage, "When I am working on a problem, I never think about beauty, but when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong." The Whisk(e)y Lover set celebrates materials and craftsmanship. It is all about paring away excess to find the beauty of a simple solution.

Vermont Soapstone (in Vermont, founded 1850) and Rogaska (in Slovenia, founded 1662).
