His studio contains a vast array of beautiful ceramics and molds for new explorations. Drawings and sketches are pinned to boards and cupboards and doors. Every available surface seems to speak about the work that goes on around it and the ideas that fill the air. But out of all the wonderful chaotic possibility, it was a simple flowerpot, sitting quietly on his windowsill, that became the starting point for the Oyyo range that Thomas would create for us.

Made at Asianera Studios (Northern China) You might expect a workshop to draw the line after 5 revisions to a mug handle. Well, what about 9 revisions?

Asianera founders Grace Liu and Jian Ping Li not only welcomed our perfectionist tendencies, they joined in. Working together with shape designer Thomas Allen and Asianera mold maker Shuang Li Zhang as he tirelessly re-crafted his molds, we all kept going until we agreed we’d brought the flowing curves of Oyyo to life.

Asianera makes all of Teroforma’s bone china, including the Avva White, Avva Fern, Oyyo White and Oyyo Petal series.
