Designed by Maria Lintott (England) Based in London, Maria keeps a studio in rural Hertford where she draws inspiration from the contrast between city and country.

“For the Fern and Petal patterns, I actually travelled to Kew [Gardens]. Armed with camera and sketchpad, I wanted to capture a sense of movement and growth. After experimenting with cutouts of the drawings, I loaded them up Teroforma’s color palette and applied pressure to transfer pattern to page. This created subtle variations in color and depth which came to life at Asianera.”

Maria designed the patterns for Teroforma’s Avva Fern and Oyyo Petal bone china series.

Made at Asianera Studios (Northern China) As Asianera founders Grace Liu and Jian Ping Li readily admit, hand-painting is about more than technique.

As Grace notes, “technology can almost replicate a hand-painted look nowadays, but the true artistry of hand-decorated and hand-painted bone china can never be imitated because the human touch and spirit of the artist will always be present in each and every brushstroke and in each unique piece of work.”

All of Teroforma’s bone china is made at Asianera under the watchful eyes of Grace and JP, including the Avva White, Avva Fern, Oyyo White and Oyyo Petal series.
