When asked about their guiding philosophy, many designers will use the opportunity to speak in detail about abstract inspiration or the challenges of the creative process. When we asked Jan, we got two words: “simplicity and functionality.” A highly disciplined designer, he sees his own process in a very straightforward way. In some cases, that would be limiting. But with Jan, we think the results speak for themselves.

Sometimes, answering the questions of the future means taking a look at the past. Founded in 1794 close to a seam of high quality silica sand within an immense beech tree forest, the materials that Kvêtná uses to create fine crystal are all local.
