Designed by Paola Longoni (Italy) As art director at Sambonet, Paola has direct insight into the international tastes and styles reflected in the Duro, Fero and Luto flatware series.

This knowledge informs her designs which she combines with Sambonet's legacy of traditional craftsmanship. Paola begins by sketching her ideas in the traditional way- pencil and paper- but this is where the similarity with her predecessors ends. Her sketches are reproduced three dimensionally using computer-aided design that allows her to prototype and try numerous versions and variations until the shape is absolutely perfect.

Paola designed the Duro, Fero and Luto 18/10 stainless steel flatware series.

Made at Sambonet (Italy) Giuseppe Sambonet, the son of a goldsmith, founded the company almost 200 years ago to supply flatware to Italian nobility.

While former clients like the Count of Turin and the Duchess of Genoa may no longer be available to confirm their approval of the job that Giuseppe did, it hardly matters. Located in Orfengo, 60 miles east of Turin on the way to Milan, Sambonet was the first company in Europe to manufacture stainless steel flatware and, to this day, continues the tradition of innovation with three designs displayed in MoMA's permanent collection in New York.  We assume the Count and the Duchess would approve.

Sambonet makes Teroforma’s Duro, Fero and Luto 18/10 stainless steel flatware series.
