Designed by Teroforma Studio (United States) We usually prefer to leave the design to the designers, but every once in a while we’re going to bring one of our own internal sketches to life.

The Avva serving boards continue the core theme of complementary angles consistent with the entire Avva range. The idea was to make a series of boards incorporating the angle in a functional as well as an aesthetic way. The angle lets you nestle them together on the table for an expanded serving surface, but it also allows you to store them in a compact way that saves space.

All the wood for the boards is sourced conscientiously by Armster Reclaimed Lumber in Connecticut: it is either fallen, urban-salvage or reclaimed from recently cleared building sites.  No tree is ever cut for our purposes.

Made at Breakfast Woodworks (United States) Ken Field is a master woodworker and founder of Breakfast Woodworks in Guilford, CT.

His business card bears the title “Techno Geek.” We thought it was a joke until we met Ken at his workshop and he introduced us to his robot, Ahnold. Ken has been handcrafting wood for 25 years, specializing in complex architectural structures. As adept with traditional handcraft techniques as with machine- and computer-assisted processes, his focus is trained on eliciting the best result from the material.

Sometimes, Ahnold helps.
